Bone Health Maintenance And Osteoporosis

by admin

Bones are very important as far as our bodies are concerned. They supply support and give structure to our bodies. Indeed the spinal cord is responsible for posture. It is also a key component of the Central nervous system. Movement can also be attributed to the combined efforts between the muscles and bones on our limbs. Internal organs such as the brain, lung area and even the heart all rely on the bones namely the ribcage and skull for protection. Bones are also the main storage site for calcium reserves. The importance of bones in our bodies can not be underestimated. It is thus important for us to ensure we do our best to maintain bone health.

How we live our life when we are still young and building bone has a key bearing on our future as far as bone health is concerned. The way the human bone is designed is that one reaches their full progress at around age twenty. This is known to as peak bone mass. It is for the duration of this phase of human development that it is important for us to do everything in our energy to ensure that we hit the maximum possible bone density.

Beyond this age, the bone gradually starts to wear off as we grow older. If one had attained the highest possible bone mass it means that they have enough mass to go by as the deteriorating phase starts as in contrast to their counterparts who may not have attained maximum density. There are many ways they can do this. Diet is very important and one is advised to eat food that is rich in calcium. Examples include dairy products such as milk, yoghurt, butter and Parmesan dairy product. Also suggested are calcium fortified foods for example bread and cereal, dark green greens, nuts and tofu products. nutritional D is also essential for bone development and this can be obtained from basking in the sun.

For the duration of the early stages of development, performing exercises comes in handy if one looking to have robust bones. Fitness is a key plus and this can be in the form of pounds training in the gym which also makes the muscles robuster thus ensuring they work better with the bones. getting part in actions like jogging, skipping or dance which keep the body active is also a good form of exercise,

Failure to look after our bones in the early stages of development stops a person from realizing their maximum bone density. This means that as they start aging their bones deteriorate at a swifter rate and they become susceptible to osteoporosis. This is a condition whereby there is decline in bone tissue thus making the bones weak and fragile due to becoming porous. This makes it easy for them to suffer fractures. It is a common occurrence in people who have calcium lack, old people and people who did not reach maximum bone density for the duration of their development stage.

Maintaining bone health in the early stages of development is essential for one to realize maximum bone density which will come in handy when they grow older and bone loss kicks in. Bone health, calcium, bone loss, bone density are all important factors that need to be considered as far as human health is concerned.
